Admitted the year started an average way. Not have got the time to spread my wishes among my fellow townspeople in the centre of Brussels, I limited my city visit of new year’s night 2012 to Flagey place in 1050 Elsene (Brussels). Not as much because of the absence of the fireworks I expected to attend overthere then because I even never have felt to go live in Elsene but do live there indeed. We’re in the beginning of March already, less than three weeks before spring start. As compensation for these late New Year wishes, uh… well I don’t know exactly what I WOULD offer you. Somewhere in the beginning of February a red Avast! popup manifested each time Windows had started up. After consulting their support forum an expert was indicated to guide me through the control of the trouble. Afterwards, have reread that all over again I felt like writing an old schoolgirlfriend that I wondered if I had discovered the first guest worker in Belgium. I couldn’t move myself towards my block of writing paper yet until now.

She denied she had heard the explosion on a stone’s throw from here maybe already several years ago, from which I conclude she must have been somewhere else, possibly at her mother’s.

This horror overthinking I must tell you that where I initially arrived after my move to rural Brabant, I had central heating and an electric stove (I mean an apparatus to prepare meals, baking cakes…). That electric stove of course, that’s another question. As far as I remember it had as all stoves only a part of cooking plates with thermostat. If the one without such is on full power and you don’t close it, along my mother it heats until it bursts instead that the fuse blows. Here we have certainly the weakest point of this culinary invention. It must have been the penetrating argument for abandoning staying in the country and move to Brussels.

My New Year nights have become more lively since.

Most if not all of us have a quite good idea of how that looks, thanks to the exploration of red planet and so on, but nobody is forced to use the exact Mars colors. It seems color choice is something to decide about by the artist himself.

Go to the upper menu in your program,

to ‘file’, ‘open’ and take as width and heigth big enough for messing with perspective, because maybe you will have to drop one another to end with a quadriangle image file.

Then choose the colors to make a transition for the air, let’s say going from black to pale rose-yellow like. The black on top of course. The palest part should come about in the middle, where also will be drawn your white sun.

Make a new layer. This one will be used for the ground. In a classical Mars drawing here we use the colour of iron oxide, so typical for our red planet. Applicate a grain like filter to give your Mars bottom a sandy look.

Draw small shapes for the stones. Give the stones some shadow. Put stones and bottom together and make the needed perspective.

Put the different elements of your scape on the right place.

For the finishing touch create maybe some radiation around the sun.
